An important Seminar for the presentation of the sustainable aspect of the cultivation of the Greek mesosperm rice variety Ronaldo, was organized on Wednesday 14/12/2022 in the beautiful area of The Log restaurant in Ioannina.
At the Seminar, Culinary Expert Smaragda Makri presented through three recipes that she prepared live, the peculiarities of Greek meso-sperm rice. The dishes he prepared and the attendees had the opportunity to try were:
Cabbage salad with raisins and pine nuts
Baked Crispy Rice Balls with Melting Heart of Metso Vone Served with Pepperonata Sauce
Rice pudding served on dried fruit compote with red aromatic sauce
The guests, representatives of institutions, professional organizations, catering, hospitality, media entrepreneurs and journalists were informed about the rice produced in Europe, a product of high nutritional value, rich in nutrients and safe, since it is cultivated in compliance with the strict European Regulations for agricultural production.
The event was organized as part of the European program entitled “Actions to Inform and Promote Sustainable Rice Production in Greece and Spain”. The program with the distinctive title EU RICE, is implemented by the Agricultural Partnership of Thessaloniki (ΕΑΣΥ) and the Consejo Regulador de la DOP Arroz de Valencia (Regulatory Authority of PDO Valencia rice).
The executive body of the program in Greece is the NOVACERT company, while the Chef Stories company has undertaken the organization of the promotion and information events in Greece.
